The beach & around

We sit on El Camino Real just off I-5, a few minutes from Trestles and the San Clemente beaches. Dawn-patrol surfers, sandy kids, longtime locals, and road-trippers pulling off the freeway all end up at the same tables — inside or out on the deck. There's an omelette on the menu named "T" Street, same as the surf spot down the road, and that tells you most of what you need to know about who we cook for.

Intermediate–advanced

The beloved beach break in the middle of town — punchy, peaky, and hollow on a good west swell. Minutes from our door, and yes, the "T" Street Omelette on our menu is named after it.

Trestles — Uppers, Middles & Lowers

Intermediate–advanced

The legendary run of breaks at the south end of town: long right-handers at Uppers, barrel-rich peaks at Middles, and Lowers — the fast, hollow wave that draws surfers from around the world on a south swell. The dawn-patrol crowd ends up at our tables afterwards, sandy feet and all.

Surf with the iconic pier as your backdrop — best on a west/northwest swell — and the heart of the beach trail, with the train rolling right past the sand. A good walk before or after breakfast.

A gentle, rolling right-hand point below the bluff-top campgrounds at the south end of town — a forgiving place to learn, a short drive from our deck.

Beginner–intermediate

Long, mellow rides and old-school longboard soul under the bluffs just south of town. Cottons' sandy-bottom point is about as friendly as a wave gets.

Intermediate–advanced

Church peels long and smooth over cobblestone near the Camp Pendleton edge; Poche, a few minutes north, trades lefts and rights with a busy local crew.
